We all fall into our depressive moods every once in awhile, and that's normal. We're only human, and that's one of the many ways in which we deal with things that come our way. And I admit, that I'm guilty of falling into such a trap, time and again, despite my efforts in trying to calm myself down and to be positive.

It's just one of those days that you wish that time would stop so that you'll have more time to yourself, to wallow in self-pity.

This world operates in such a weird way, that it's no longer easy to pinpoint faults and such. The fear of losing and to constantly strive to be at one's peak is eating into everyone. The desire for success is stretching us to our limits, and yet, we still choose to pursue what we might never be able to achieve or attain in this life.

How does it feel like, to be average? Less than average?

I know how that feels. To be average, to be worse off than someone, to never be as good as others despite all the hard work. That feeling sucks, but we have to live with it. Why? Because it's life, and in life, we're constantly trying to find answers to our doubts that might never have an explanation to begin with. They're not like theories that we can conceptualise and prove in the near future, they're just unanswerable, throughout our lifetime. But we continue to ask, why.

The word 'average' is kind of eating into me. We seem to be in this constant battle that forces us to be the best, to strive to be the best no matter the circumstance, to never disappoint those around us, to work till our last breath to make this world go round. But honestly, how much can we really do as individuals?

Yes, one might be a doctor, a lawyer, a wealthy businessman, a sensational journalist, etc. But how does it really feel like to be human? What does it feel like to be the crème of the crop, but yet be average in the given field. Can you deal with yourself? Would you deem yourself a failure?

I never understood the mind of an elite, and I never world, because I was never one and I don't think I'll ever be one. But how does it feel like to be average? Is being average enough? Or are we suppose to bite the bullet at every given point in time so that we can achieve our means of survival?

Are we humans? Or have we grown to become machines?

Is being average really such a scary thing to be in this age and time? Or are we so caught up with success that we fail to see that there are always people who are lagging behind?

Have we become so obsessed with success that a small failure on our part drives us to doing something stupid? (Blame game, depression, diminishing of self-worth, etc.)

What exactly are we? How are we suppose to feel about ourselves? Can we get rid of this competitive spirit that is slowly getting us wasted? I don't know. And as much as I try to answer these questions, I find myself trapped.

Maybe, sometimes, it's good to not pursue answers.
